The starting point for all our research in this area is the conviction that young people are a permanent, necessary and progressive element of all societies, whose role is especially important in the public policy making process.

The youth in Macedonia are yet to be included in decision-making processes at a satisfactory level. In addition to facing continuous structural unemployment, our research shows that the Macedonian youth has responded to the social exclusion they have been subjected to by becoming cynical and distrusting towards public institutions and skeptical about their own power to contribute to change in their communities. With this in mind, the focus of our research in this area is on youth unemployment, education and civic participation. Our goal is to advocate for more inclusive and participative policy making and to provide policy recommendations for empowering young people, in order to help them realize their full potential and become active and engaged citizens.
