Call for participants: Training on EU Advocacy, Public Relations and Communication

The training will take place on 28, 29 and 30 November, 2018 at Public Room in Skopje.

Reactor – Research in Action and Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation are inviting participants on a three day training on the topic of: EU Advocacy, Public Relations and Communication, that will take place on 28, 29 and 30 November, 2018 at Public Room in Skopje. 

The training will cover topics related to EU institutions and processes important for advancing the gender perspective in EU accession: why EU advocacy is important for women’s civil society organizations in the country and the region and how it works in practice. Participants will have the opportunity to work on practical messages and advocacy points through group exercises.

At the same time, the second part of the training will provide an overview of the theoretical foundations needed to improve public relations and improve participants’ knowledge and skills in building the reputation of their CSOs. This module will focus on strategic communication and will improve the capacity of organizations to develop communication strategy by reviewing tools and techniques, as well as communication channels, in order to improve their outreach.

At the end of the training, the participants will have knowledge of the methods, techniques and tools for successful advocacy planning and implementation in their organization.

The training is intended for representatives of women’s organizations or organizations focused on women’s rights. When selecting candidates, advantage will be given to representatives of organizations that are members of platforms, networks and coalitions. The selected participants are expected to attend all 3 days of the training.

The work methodology of the training is based on the principle of non-formal education which includes interaction and practical work with the participants.

The number of participants is limited. The training is free of charge and will be conducted by experienced trainers. The working languages will be  Macedonian and English. Accommodation will be provided and transportation costs will be reimbursed for participants from other cities.

This training is part of the project “Gender Equal EU Integration? – Building the capacity of Women’s Civil Society Organizations” funded by the European Union, represented by the Delegation of the European Union in Skopje, and is implemented within the decentralized National Program for Transitional Support and Institution Building, implemented by the General Secretariat of the Government and the Ministry of Finance.

This project aims to enhance the involvement of Women’s Civil Society Organisations (WCSO’s) in the EU integration reforms, through partnership and cooperation with relevant institutions and policy-making mechanisms, as well as through involvement in planning, programming and monitoring key national reforms related to achieving gender equality.
