Donor: The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation
Duration: November 2015 – December 2016, 2017 – 2018, 2019 - 2020, 2021 - 2023

This project, supported by the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation, as part of the Regional EU Advocacy programme (Advocating towards the EU—how Kvinna till Kvinna and partners make a difference for women in the Western Balkans), aims at addressing the low visibility of women’s human rights in EU accession documents, women’s organizations inadequate inclusion in the accession processes and the insufficient allocation of human and financial resources for advancement of women’s human rights by EU and Macedonian institutions. Project activities aim at several advocacy goals: alignment of national and EU policies, increased visibility of women’s rights in EU accession processes and documents, involvement of women’s CSO in IPA 2 processes, improved legislation and implementation, and advancement of women’s human rights.

The goal of our efforts through this project is to achieve improved lives of women and men, girls and boys through elevated gender equality in the EU accession process, improved and gender informed policies, improved implementation of national legislation and strategic documents related to gender equality and women’s rights. Working towards this goal we advocate for gender mainstreaming of the EU accession processes and documents, increased participation of women’s organizations in the EU accession process, women’s CSOs are watchdogs of government work and hold institutions accountable, and increased availability of gender segregated data and data on gender gaps/equality.
